INTOX Data Center

TRD Database
The registry contains cases in which the agents coded are recognized drugs, contrast media, dietary factors, supplements, vitamins, hormones or other administered materials intended for therapeutic or other effects in the recipient.

Kuwait Database
The Kuwait Registry exists as a separate registry. Kuwait Registry cases will no longer be entered into the TRD registry, and a TRD sheet is not required. If an agent is named and is an agent that falls under the TRD or EAR (Environmental Agents Registry) a TRD sheet for entry into either of these registries will be completed.

Breast Explant Registry
This is a separate registry, which only includes breast explant materials and connective tissues. Cases in which silicone is demonstrated in tissue in cases other than breast explants are to be included in the Environmental Agents Registry (EAR).

Former Prisoners of War Database
A separate POW registry under INTOX will be used to enter POW cases. Initially these will be from verified POWs who have been part of AFIP research protocols.

Medical Geology Database
This database deals with the relationship between geological materials and processes and their impacts on health problems in man and animals. This includes the identification and characterization of natural and anthropogenic sources of harmful materials in the environment, learning how to predicting the movement and alteration of chemical, infectious, and other disease-causing agents, and understanding how people may be exposed to such materials.

Agent Orange Database
Cases currently in the TRD Registry will be transferred to a separate Agent Orange Database into which all new Agent Orange cases will be added. Other cases suitable for entry into the database, for example, verified service in South East Asia during the Vietnam War, will be entered as they are identified by Departmental Staff.

Chronic Arseniasis Database
This is a separate registry primarily for cases in which chronic exposure to Arsenic is given by history and/or demonstrated by studies at the AFIP. Other Arsenic-related materials such as acute poisonings are also included as part of this Registry.

Environmental Agents Database (EAD)
Those agents formerly in the TRD Registry that are not in the groups indicated in 1. (above), that are environmental agents, toxins, and physical agents, are to be entered into a separate registry, that will continue to use the TRD sheet as an outline for data processing.

Radiation Biology Database
This registry is intended to include all cases in which radiation is associated with histopathologic material. Cases in which pathologic radiation effects are due to abnormalities in the usual repair of nucleic acids are also considered suitable for inclusion.
