Consultation

  1. To assemble, tentatively define histopathologically, and selectively store animal tumor material and data.
  2. To study classification and nomenclature in liaison with WHO Collaborating Centers for comparative oncology and with WHO reference centers for human tumors with a view to arriving at a system that is generally agreed.
  3. To collate and analyze relevant epidemiological data.
  4. To supply reference preparations and study sets to recognized institutions, veterinary and human, when feasible to do so.
  5. To advise on identification and classification of animal tumor material submitted by national and other recognized laboratories.
  6. To offer facilities for advanced study, training and research to workers from other institutions and countries, as far as facilities permit.
  7. To prepare and maintain a bibliographical reference system on animal tumors.
  8. To cooperate with WHO/HQ and WHO collaborating centers in comparative oncology on all these matters, especially classification..
  9. To report to WHO/HQ on the foregoing activities at suitable intervals.
